The Nature of Ideas: Like Trees, They Need Care

  • No matter how strong and beautiful an idea is, if it doesn’t meet a heart that believes in it and is dedicated to it, feeding it with its own blood and sweat, it will never see the light of day, nor will it be written into existence!

  • Ideas are like trees; they remain dry and withered, their best moments turned inward, until they find someone who embraces them, nourishes them, and takes care of them properly.

  • Beneficial and beautiful ideas offer great rewards, but they cannot give you any of their goodness until you first give them from yourself, your wealth, and your time. As much as you give, that is what they will give you in return.

  • Whoever deals with beautiful, beneficial ideas in an opportunistic and utilitarian manner—accepting them only if they bring immediate benefits, and abandoning them if they don't—this person harbors a trace of hypocrisy. Great ideas and lofty principles do not survive under such treatment, and large-scale developmental projects are not built in this way.
